This is a very pleasant rural walk around the village of Loxwood on the West Sussex - Surrey border, including stretches of both the Sussex Border Path and the Wey South Path. The main feature is the part-restored Wey and Arun Canal, a wonderful example of the persistence and vision of a group of volunteers. The walk starts alongside part of the canal that has been reopened and finishes along a stretch that is subject to future plans. Much of the rest is through quiet woodlands and along good paths and there are two pubs to choose from, one after about 6km and one at the finish.

A delightful walk, especially in Spring. The walk was varied and interesting. At Point 9, care must be taken to stay with the broad recently resurfaced bridleway for some distance, as there are many paths with streams in these woods that look similar!

Enjoyed this easy walk with our 15 year old yorkshire terrier! Interesting to see the progress on the canal restoration since Richard did the walk last. The footpath has been officially diverted at Oakhurst Farm (Point 17) due to a major redevelopment of the farm but is well signposted. I took photos so if you want/need them let me know. Thanks for an enjoyable walk.
