Starting off in the tourist village of Lulworth, this route heads up a popular path to view Stair Hole and its incredible folds and rock formations. The route now quickly heads away from the busy village and follows the beach around to the other side of the cove, where steps take you up to the South West Coast Path (please ensure you have enough time to complete this 400m section, as it is tidal). The route now follows the clifftop path past the Fossil Forest with views down to the 140-million-year-old fossils.

The route continues east along the coastal path to a viewpoint above Mupe Rocks and one of the most spectacular views on the walk. The view over the rocks in the sunlight is a magical experience and one you will not forget.

The route continues north now and gains height very quickly to the 168m summit of Bindon Hill. The northern side of the hill has a large bank and ditch marking the edge of an Iron Age enclosure stretching for 2km and covering 110ha. The view is breathtaking, with Poole Harbour clearly seen and much of the Dorset coast visible.

Great walk includes beach, hillside open ridge, and cliff ascent. After doing hundreds of walks on walking world and independently I would dispute this as being a 'moderate walk .... for a mountain goat maybe !! As it includes a 500ft 75° walk up to the top of Bindon Hill Strenuous I think . Very enjoyable fantastic views all the same .. thanks Mick
