Lyddington Bede House and Eyebrook Reservoir

The walk has only a moderate amount of climbing for the expanse of views it offers. Eyebrook Reservoir and the tiny village of Stoke Dry both add interest to the walk, while Lyddington is a delight itself. A visit to the Bede House in Lyddington, a property of English Heritage, can easily be fitted into the day, although we found that the audio-guide was so good that we spent more time there than planned!

Nice walk with a great view of the reservoir at point 8. Once down between points 8 and 9 it's a little disappointing as the vegetation covers any further views of the water. Take care on the road between points 6 and 7. It's a very busy road!

Walked this route 20.09.13. A fine walk on a dry and sunny day. Walk instructions easy to follow. Thanks must go to the farmers on the route who have maintained footpaths across their fields, even at harvest time.

We walked this route on 7 August 2013. No problems at all with the directions. Especially enjoyed the views of Eyebrook Reservoir and the return path to Lyddington. Not especially dog-friendly - we had to lift the dog over several stiles. Cattle (including young calves and a bull)in one field

16 Nov 2008. Very much enjoyed the walk - stunning views of Leics/Northants countryside - two very interesting churches. A dry day after very wet weather - some very squelchy bits but we were well shod and, again, glad of our poles! Thanks to Jim for the walk.
