You saw the TV serial, probably read the book, now walk where Darcy only dared to swim! The walk is essentially a contrast between the open moorland and the well kept park which it surrounds. There is a very pretty descent through a wooded valley at the start of the walk, followed by one long but very gradual climb which gives wonderful views across the moors and over the park. Navigation is fairly straightforward as there is a wall somewhere near at hand most of the time, while the signposting is adequate. The descent into the park is a little shorter and steeper than the climb to the highest point.

The ladder stile at point 15 is now a gate. Thoroughly enjoyed this walk. We completed it on Saturday 11th August, one of the rare hot days we had. Fantastic views, a very steep hill and some spectacular woodland. Really enjoyed this one, off the beaten track!
