From the car park of Lyndon Top Nature Reserve, the route circles part of Rutland Water to visit Edith Weston and Lyndon. There are clear views across the giant lake, where stately buildings can be seen through the trees and small communities with visible landmarks of church spires. Both villages are very attractive, with their characteristic charming cottages and lovely old churches and the pleasant leafy environment is ever-present.

A very enjoyable walk, particularly at the beginning when alongside the lake.As noted previously at check point 8 the yellow post is not there, the angle to walk at is more 10 o'clock rather than 11. Look for a green metal gate which leads into the wood not beside the wood.

Very enjoyable walk. Parked at Lyndon Nature Reserve. We were the only ones there! The visitor centre was closed. The path follows the shore of Rutland Water up to the Sailing Club and is good for walking and cycling. Just one small point, at Point 8 (SK 905 046). After going through the gate it is not apparent where the 'yellow marker' is. Head in an 'eleven o`clock' direction towards the wood, and as you arrive at the brow of the hill, you can see a green metal gate going into the wood. Go through the green gate and continue as per the guide.

Really enjoyed the walk. Beautiful views and lovely villages ... and a pub half-way round. The only downside (and it is quite a big one) was the unclassified road, which you need to tackle twice. We had two young children and sticking to the speed limits was not top of the drivers' priority list.

Very enjoyable walk taking in lake views, woodland paths and picturesque villages. Excellent directions.
