This walk is along forest tracks, although the start is down a quiet road which is between the army training grounds. The rest of the route is through woodland. If you wish to have a good meal at the Crown Hotel Mundford, then follow the directions at Waymark 9 and retrace steps. There is a shop in Mundford too.

Did this walk yesterday 29 Nov 2019. Much of the first section is on the road for a long time, which was busier than expected but the verge was mostly accessible. The forest tracks were not very interesting and you need to concentrate to avoid missing the correct turn. I also carry OS maps which was pleasing as phone signal was poor in the forest. The app was helpful. In fading light we cut short the walk at waymark 7 by turning right back to the road, then left along the forest drive and right to way mark 2. Still did 7.5 miles.
