When I decided on a walk in this area I found that there were practically no footpaths or bridleways - have a look at the map. I went ahead and under these circumstances, used perhaps more lanes than I would normally. These are mostly quiet but if that isn't your thing then you won't want to do this walk. On the other hand, the lanes are bordered with flowers and plentiful butterflies, the off-road sections are delightful and the going is very easy - level, few stiles, easy to follow and wide views from the Lancashire Coastal Footpath section. If you like the excitement of aircraft then the Eurofighters being tested at Warton will keep your interest. At the end of the walk you will find that Lytham is a delightful small town with plentiful restaurants and pubs and a welcoming atmosphere; we enjoyed our day out and hope that you will, too.
