This a fine little walk with outstanding views from a National Trust property. If you feel guilty that such views are attained with such little effort, then you could park at Maenan Abbey Hotel and walk up the road – but it is steep! There are few walkers in this area once you have passed the viewpoint and the signposting is a little sketchy, but you should have no difficulty in following the route.

We did this walk on the 21/09/2017 with our dogs. A great walk with stunning view at point 2 and 21. The only issue we had was at 5 as there was no yellow arrow and the path got a bit lost by the waters edge. Be reassured that the kissing gate at point 20 is particularly narrow.

Nice walk and fabulous woodland and a great view from Red Ifan's seat. You can see a short, easy to watch video of the walk here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VQi9DJxEKU

This is indeed a fine little walk and no Jim you're not getting fat - the kissing-gate at step 20 is unusually narrow! We noticed that the farm at 8 now seems to be occupied. We didn't see anyone but there was washing on the line, equipment in the farmyard and a new looking gate which was tied shut. When the photo of 8 was taken there doesn't seem to be a gate at all. Unsure what else to do we climbed over it and walked through the yard but felt a little uncomfortable doing so. At least it is a very short walk between 8 and 9.
