The walk falls naturally into three parts. First a delightful ramble from Manaccan following the Gillan Creek past St Anthony in Meaneage along tracks, lanes and footpaths. This part culminates in a visit to Dennis Head, offering outstanding views over the entrance to the Helford River and way over towards Pendennis and entrance to the Carrick Roads and Falmouth.
The second part takes us along the spectacular southern bank of the Helford River, walking through wonderful old deciduous woods and passing two lovely little beaches, only accessible by boat; great spots for a swim and a picnic.
The final part takes us south up from charming Helford with its beautifully located pub, following the course of a rapidly flowing stream. We are mostly in damp cool woods as we gently climb a muddy way for about a kilometre before emerging into open country to cross a minor road and follow the footpath back into Manaccan.
