A linear walk starting at Marks Tey station to Colchester Town station. This route has quite a bit of variety included. The start mainly consists of field paths and country lanes before arriving at Stanway. We then follow residential roads and footpaths before arrivng at Lexden Dyke which has a beautiful pond and some benches, ideal for a relaxing break. From here we soon enter a nature reserve which is very peaceful and has some great views, Marks Tey, and then the last section is through Colchester Town passing shops and pubs. With a short detour you can visit the whole town centre, Colchester Castle and the park before making your way to the station.
All the field paths were clear when this walk was compiled (July 2022).
