This is a short walk that is easy to follow and has as its objective an ancient pack-horse bridge which is reached mainly by a canal towpath. The walk also passes a canal visitor centre where there is a cafe and toilets, at the point where the tunnel goes beneath the Pennines into Lancashire, so it has plenty of interest. Wheelchair users will be able to reach the visitor centre and go beyond it to Step 6, but the pack-horse bridge will be just out of reach, unfortunately.
