This short walk around Martham takes in some of the highlights of the area. It starts in the village centre and heads up to the parish church, which stands at 98ft tall and dates from about 1450. The walk then follows public footpaths over to Thunder Hill. The word hill is a little bit of an exaggeration, but nonetheless it still offers superb views north from its 56ft height. Landmarks on the horizon include Horsey Windpump, Happisburgh Church and Lighthouse and also the radar dome near Mundesley!

After descending the hill the route follows country lanes to join the riverbank footpath, which can be buzzing with wildlife and insects during the spring and summer months! Keep an eye on the skies here too, as there are many birds of prey that soar above; I'm pretty sure we saw a hen harrier when we walked it!

The last leg of the walk follows footpaths and quiet country lanes back to the village, past the church to the green.
