Marwood - Pippacott - Ash Barton - Boode - Beara - Westcott Barton - Marwood

Start from Marwood Hill Gardens, of over twenty acres, which are open to the public and contain the national collections of astilbes, tulbahia and Japanese irises, as well as many species of camelias. There is a tea room there but if you are lucky the church room will be open for cream teas, certainly the best in North Devon. They also serve home-made cakes made by the church ladies. See www.marwoodhillgardens.co.uk

Passing also the interesting Marwood Church, the walk goes through very lovely, quiet countryside and passes close to two very interesting old manor-houses. There are a couple of 'rough' bits, probably not suitable for the very unfit, but with no serious climbs. Lovely views of the North Devon coast can also be seen as you progress.
