Following the route of a dismantled railway, this walk takes in splendid views of the hilly countryside and the estuary is a haven for waders and other waterbirds. Parts of the walk pass unspoilt ancient woodland.

This walk was measured at 6.9 miles, not 5. If we had not checked on OS maps first this could have been a problem. Given that the walks are plotted on an OS map accuracy should be far better than this.

Walked 24.08.2018 - We have to say that whilst this was an easy walk as the paths were well-defined, this walk is five miles in EACH direction making a 10 mile walk ! Given the 10 miles it's not worthy of the whole day required because whilst it is a lovely area, there wasn't actually that much variation in the walk so it became a slog. Walking is also on gravel for the duration of the walk so walking shoes not boots are recommended. Be wary of ensuring you're at the right start place. Our Sat Nav took us a mile up the road to another car park and hence we ended up walking 13 miles in total with the extra mile each way. The area around the toll booth was lovely though. Toll crossing was 70p for cars as of the 24.08.2018
