From Meadowhall Rail and Bus stations to the River Don, then follow a route through the industrial heartland of Sheffield's East End, passing the Five Weirs along the way. Salmon Pastures is a local nature reserve, almost in the city centre. It is an urban walk, but very interesting: rugged industrial, river scapes, bridges and of course the five weirs which powered the early industry in the East End of Sheffield.
It is mainly on surfaced footpaths, cycleways and riverside paths, with some streets.
