The route starts at the rail station at Meadowhall, joins the TPT for about 1km, through the ancient woods of Wooley (The Wood of the Wolves) for almost 3km. It follows the Blackburn Brookfor 0.5km, then crosses the rail line to rejoin the TPT. Then it's onward to Chapeltown Park and finally the rail station.
Good paths throughout, the TPT is a surfaced cycleway. The woodland paths are good, but can be muddy.
It is an outer city walk, with housing to one side and the M1 to the other, but is is a very pleasant route, a steady uphill all the way.
