From Glenmore Visitor Centre a very good footpath and cycle path leads through the forest as far as the Green Loch, from where a rougher path continues to Ryvoan Bothy. From the bothy a well-built footpath with staircases on the steeper sections climbs for 1.5km to Meall a' Bhuachaille, the highest peak on the ridge. On a good day the ridge provides excellent views south over the Cairngorms and north over Abernethy Forest. The path continues along the ridge, descending steeply to a col, from where an escape route branches left and leads back down to the visitor centre. Beyond the col the quality of the path deteriorates and passes across some boggy areas of peat, but it is fairly easily followed for most of its route along the undulating ridge to Craiggowrie at the far end. From Craiggowrie a peaty path descends south-west across grass and heather to re-enter the forest and join a forestry road. A series of forestry roads leads through Badaguish Outdoor Centre and back to the Glenmore Visitor Centre.

Snow flurries and bright blue skies alternated today. Walked in to Ryvoan last night and stayed over before doing the rest of the walk this morning. Brilliant easy to follow even under snow.
