A lovely little introduction to the edge of the Cotswolds, having virtually 360-degree views from wherever you walk. Start from the village of Mickleton and climb up firstly to Kiftsgate and Hidcote Gardens, (well worth a visit if time) and then continue to the top, eventually wending your way down to the little hamlet of Hidcote Boyce and going through a delightful old beech-wood to return to the starting point.

May 2009. Walkingworld: please note this walk may be tricky to navigate in places. We recommend people use a compass (or GPS) with their Walkingworld map. A 1:25 000 scale OS map might help too, especially if paths are overgrown and difficult to locate. We will do our best to update any of the guide where necessary as soon as possible.

Did this walk today and was most impressed. The first mile or so is quite hard going being uphill virtually all of the way - the stops to enjoy the wonderful views (and get our breath back) became more frequent until we reached the aerial station. The walk from WP7 to WP8 was fairly straightforward; although my GPS was insisting I was well to the left of the correct track, the path took us back to our starting point. To round off there is an excellent pub in Mickleton. David Morgan

This is an amzing walk with fantastic views, however some of the directions are difficult to follow. Particularly waypoint 2 and 6. We missed waypoint 2 totally (but managed to find our way back to the walk) and at waypoint 6 do not head towards the farm. Again we somehow could not follow the walk but eventually found the correct route again. Added frustration on what is a great walk.
