A varied walk sandwiched in the area between the south-east corner of Darlington and the River Tees. The route passes through three pleasant villages, a hamlet and a golf course and also includes a section on a delightful riverside path. This mainly rural walk also skirts around the industrial south-east corner of Darlington.

The walk starts from the village of Middleton One Row overlooking the beautiful River Tees. The route descends to the river for a beautiful picturesque riverside walk before passing through Dinsdale Park, the site of a popular former spa. The walk then passes through Dinsdale golf course, then through open fields across the neck of the Sockburn Peninsula to arrive at the neat riverside village of Neasham. From here the route leaves the river and heads north through fields and along lanes to arrive at the industrial south-eastern corner of Darlington. A little road-walking then follows on pavements, before the route once again takes to the fields to intersect Middleton St George for a walk along a railway path that was originally the trackbed of the historic Darlington to Stockton railway line. A short section of road and field-walking then returns the walker back to Middleton One Row.
