A quite demanding walk including some steep climbs and descents. Much of the route is along field-paths and tracks, though some short sections of road-walking is included.
The climb out of the valley from the Monsal Trail path is the most demanding, though offering good views from the top along the limestone gorge into Chee Dale.
The Pub originally used on this route the Plough Inn in Flagg, closed in 2004 and is now a private residence. Since the closure of the pub Tea Rooms have opened close to Waymark 18 where some food and refreshments may be obtained. Otherwise it will now be necessary to carry food and drinks for this route. Unless using an alternative as below.
Alternatives are available on this route at Chelmorton (Church Inn) turn right from marker 12 along way marked paths to descend to pub opposite church; or at Taddington (Queens Arms), about three quarters of way through walk, turn right from marker 34. Miss out marker 22 now, turn left at marker 21 and follow details from marker 23.
