Molland is a very pretty village, so set in the hillside that the sun always seems to be shining on the cottages and church. This walk is quite demanding even though it is only 8km long. It involves a steady climb up onto the wild, open moor of White Moor, passing Tuckers Farm as mentioned in the books by Paddy King-Frettes as you go. The views are glorious all the way, back over Molland as you climb and down to Twitchen as you descend. On the way back you will pass Molland Barton, which was a manor-house and residence of the Courtneys and later the Quartly family, credited with breeding Devon cattle. Molland is a very popular pheasant-rearing and shooting area, so expect to see many of these birds on the way into the village. Molland Church, St Mary's, has a rare Georgian interior and the pub, The London Inn, has excellent home-cooked food.

A lovely varied walk with good instructions. A little leadwork to do (livestock) but not enough to spoil the walk.Nice meal in the very quaint and charming London Inn.

This is indeed a very nice walk. And quite an effort, as it isn't 140 metres height gain in total, it's more...
