Monmouth - Wye Valley Walk - Dixton Nature Reserve - Monmouth
Monmouth Embankment is one of the nature reserves cared for by Gwent Wildlife Trusts. This walk visits the reserve but also takes the walker along the banks of the River Wye. This stretch of the river is always worth a visit. Autumn brings lovely colours, while in spring and summer there are many birds to be seen.
When in the reserve, look across the river to The Doward and see if you can pick out the ER in trees planted to commemmorate the Queen's Coronation. It is easiest in the winter when the trees are bare.
