Beginning from the old aqueduct near the St Lucia spring just outside the walls of Morella, our way takes us initially downwards before we join the old Camino de Xiva which was the historic original way connecting the two towns. The way is unofficially well marked with painted white bars and meanders upwards in a generally NW direction and offers a wonderful variety of scenery as we gently climb the route. Close to Xiva we connect with the PR CV 216 route that we will follow back to Morella. First however we descend to enjoy the charm of the little pueblo of Xiva. Our way back is easier underfoot and offers contrasting scenery and some wonderful old abandoned farm houses. Towards the end the panoramas are simply amazing and it is an easy rocky ramble back down to Morella.
