Morella Town wall circuit

Starting from the imposing Sant Mateu gateway (you can also start by the St Lucia Spring at the town aqueduct-way mark 5 –which is better for parking if you are visiting Morella) our way takes us along the well established undulating footpath to eventually reach the main entrance Sant Miguel gate area and the aqueduct. From here our way is more rural as we complete the circuit beneath the cliffs back to Portal Forcall. We end with a short stretch inside the walls.

We visited the Morella area for a few days, specifically to walk some of this website's interesting routes there. We had great weather (May). This was a nice short ramble after we'd been up to the top of the castle. We started by the aqueduct and kept largely to the route described, except that we missed the gap in the wall at waypoint 2, instead walking inside the town wall to rejoin at waypoint 3. Lovely walk!
