You start from the car park at Morillion 1100 (the ski station of Morillion). From here you climb steadily through woodland and pastures, passing through the isolated hamlets of Les Laurents (alt. 1,257m), Tréchard (alt. 1,340m) and Le Vielle (alt. 1,500m). You eventually emerge on the upper slopes of the ski resort of Morillion, where you can eat and drink in the chalet L'Igloo (alt. 1,590) (this is usually open during the summer months). The path back is through woodland and pastures through Les Chars (alt. 1,431), with views out over the Giffre Valley and beyond, before returning to Les Esserts.

October 2013. This walk became a nightmare as the road back at Point 12 had collapsed into a ravine and there was no way back to the car-parking just a few minutes away - local couple confirmed that there was no way through. Alternatives: walk down to Morillon by road (6-8 kms) and back up to Morillon 1100 (5kms) or, retrace steps, almost to the top of the walk, and take either the Ski Piste down or return on the upward route. Chose second alternative. Having started at 9.30 am we eventually arrived back at 5.30 having walked 18.2kms with ascent/descent 1200 metres.
