The route offers level walking along the course of the old 'Paddy Line' railway, passing the beautiful Lochs Stroan and Skerrow and affording superb views. Botanists will surely appreciate the wealth of wildflowers.
One short stretch is liable to be wet. Generally however, the terrain offers easy walking on granite clinker, grassy path or forest road. This linear walk requiring two cars may be started from either end and full directions are given for both.
We walked this route from east to west. However, it is equally valid walking from west to east; Waymarks 21 to 36 describe the route in the other direction.
It's a real get-away-from-it-all route; we didn't meet so much as a sheep in this very remote area, much less other people!
