Enjoy a leisurely stroll through farmland adjacent to the River Douglas, in south-west Lancashire. Starting near the pretty village of Much Hoole, this walk heads west to meet the bank of the River Douglas, which is used nowadays by narrowboat enthusiasts navigating their way from the Lancasater Canal to the Leeds & Liverpool. This was only made possible recently through the opening of the Ribble Link, which as the name suggests, allowed passage from the Lancaster to the Leeds & Liverpool Canals via the River Ribble. After following the river a short way, the walk heads inland again towards Walmer Bridge. There are absolutely no hills on this walk and so it can be undertaken by walkers of all abilities.
