Much Wenlock is a small town and a few minutes' walk brings you to the foot of a cultivated hill. A number of arable fields are crossed before an old green lane between hedges leads north to a B road. This is followed for 10-15 minutes to some old limekilns on National Trust property. From here there is a short climb to the top of Wenlock Edge, celebrated by the famous composer Ralph Vaughn Williams. By keeping to a quarry edge, views can be had for some distance before another old trackway is followed down into the town.

This is a lovely walk, but spoilt by the road walk at waymark 20. It involves a 1km walk along a busy narrow road which does not have a footpath and steep grass banks. The road is used by caravans and large trucks ( there is a quarry nearby). It also has some sharp bends so that oncoming traffic cannot see you until the last minute We had to squeeze into a hedge on a couple of occasions to avoid being hit. WALK THIS SECTION WITH CAUTION.
