Starting from a remote area high up in the Cotswold Hills, the walk passes through woodland and grassy fields to reach the small hamlet of Quarhouse. From there we continue downhill, on a winding path that reaches the bottom of the valley and soon arrives at the beautiful Toadsmoor Lake, which is a lovely place for a picnic. After walking along the side of the lake, we take a woodland track which climbs steadily uphill to a meadow. There is then a short, steep climb up through the meadow to the edge of the hamlet of Middle Lypiatt. From there, we cross over the brow of the ridge to walk through grassland on the other side, with wonderful views over the Stroud Valley and out to the River Severn, before returning to the starting point.

This is a beautiful walk, and not at all difficult to follow. It's a shame that it's moderate, as people who only search for easy walks will miss out on this gem. It was very dog friendly - as were all the stiles. I would recommend a stick or trekking pole to help with the odd slippery spot, and to push away strands of brambles or nettles, of which there were only a few. I confess at point 16 we took the quick route back through the trees rather than another climb to The Heavens, but that's down to our 70 year old gippy legs, although I was pleasantly surprised that the walk had been relatively easy going. Thank you for this lovely walk Jenny.

This is a lovely walk, with very good easy-to-follow directions. We did it on a fairly overcast day, but plan to revisit when the weather is clearer as the views are excellent

This is an excellent short walk. The directions are extremely precise so there's no danger of getting lost. The walk by the lake is superb but the highlight is at point 17 when suddenly the most amazing view appears before you! Thank you Jenny Beal for contributing such a delightful walk.
