This is a walk that I did on a really wet day since the fell tops were very unattractive. It follows the Hodder between the two villages with scarcely any climbing and I found it an enjoyable walk in attractive surroundings despite the weather. You could start at either end with a break in either the Hark to Bounty or the café in Slaidburn or the Parkers Arms in Newton.
