Decoy Park, https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/decoy is an old clay quarry that now supports a lot of wildlife. There is a large lake with a wide variety of birds including black-headed gulls, various ducks, cormorants, kingfishers, coots and herons. There are picnic areas, a café, discovery centre and chidren's playground.

Abbotskerswell developed around the growing of apples for cider making. There is an ancient church, St Mary's, http://abbotskerswellchurch.org.uk and a Quaker burial ground.

The downhill section towards the end of the walk is very steep and very uneven under foot and great care needs to be taken. Not for those who are not used to walking down steep slopes! In wet weather, it could be quite treacherous and very slippery.
