This circular walk following the route of the historic Templer Way starts and finishes at the railway station in Newton Abbot and takes in Stover Country Park near Bovey Tracey. Unusually for Devon, there are no steep hills and if you want to do a shorter walk there is the option of taking a bus back to Newton Abbot from outside Stover Country Park.
Templer Way was the historic route that granite from Haytor on Dartmoor was brought to Teignmouth Docks. Today it is a waymarked footpath some 18 miles long, covering a wide range of scenery from open moorland, woodland, meadow, historical tracks, urban land and estuary foreshore. More details can be downloaded from http://www.devon.gov.uk/templer-way-guide.pdf.
