North Highland Way: Torrisdale to Tongue Causeway

This walk takes in a lovely trip along the north coast, with views of the many islands. It also lets you walk through a desolate old Clearances village called Sletiel. When you reach the small village of Coldbackie look to the left and you'll see a hill called the Watchhill. It is where in the war years there were lookout people on the top watching out for submarines! Also Jeremy Clarkson ('Top Gear') drove a Land-Rover up the next hill (Ben Tongue). On the right is a walkway down to the beach.
