The beautiful west Oxfordshire village of North Leigh is the starting point for this super little walk to Stonesfield and East End. The Cotswold stone buildings and dry-stone walling are attractive features of this area, combining with the splendour of green and glorious landscape that make up the wonderful scenes encountered. The Roman villa of North Leigh is a tremendously interesting and exciting spectacle, a valuable relic of the distant past, giving us a little insight into life in ancient Britain. The paths and bridleways that we tread today link us to our ancestors who trod the very same ones, a fact that is brought sharply into focus on this historical route.
