Far reaching views on this walk north of Pickering on lesser used tracks, byways and footpaths in the North York Moors National Park. The walk passes the flank of Blakey Topping, an unusually shaped hill, before heading over the moor on Thompson's Rigg. Blakey Topping can be climbed if you wish to. Later in the walk a steep traverse on a path through woodland takes us up to Crosscliff Brow. Proceeding back south we then get good views of the Bridestones Nature Reserve with its unusual rock formations. Expect a few stiles and gates on the walk and the possibility of encountering livestock in the fields where you will walk.
