This circular walk has a bit of everything: country lanes, woodland, open fields and two lovely villages. There are no stiles and height gain is negligible. I have chosen to start this walk from a pub because it is the only one in the village, therefore it is an easily identifiable point; it serves lunch every day and it welcomes walkers. If you choose not to park at the pub please park sensibly at the roadside in the village. I remember, in the 1960s, Walt Disney visiting this pub while researching his family tree.

Waymark 10: The footpath had been diverted to allow the excavation of sand and gravel. This has now been completed and the footpath returned to its original route. From here follow the restored footpath between two fences to reach the footbridge at WM11. Peter Holland (originator)
