This great walk was originally devised and submitted to Walkingworld by Tom Heydon.
After a visit to the castle at Nunney, follow the banks of Nunney Brook downstream towards Lower Whatley, then turn eastwards to follow a path across high ground and pass through the Frome Golf Club at Critchill Farm. Northwards and up the road a short way, take the next footpath on the left to Egford. On meeting the road, continue straight ahead to take the footpath just west of Vallis Farm alongside Egford Brook. Cross a footbridge where Mells Stream joins to form Mells River. Turn left along the right-hand bank of the Mells Stream to follow the footpath past Bedlam, Fordbury Bottom and Murder Combe. Join the McMillan Way across the high ground and heading for the church spire at Whatley, turning left to Whatley Vineyard, passing The Sun public House and then on and down to Nunney Combe once again. Retrace your steps to Nunney.
