Stunning views and enchanting and predominantly level forest paths with no stiles, characterise this short, dog-friendly walk from Okeford Hill through Blandford Forest. In the spring, sections of the forest are carpeted with bluebells. Very close to the start of the walk, at ST 813095, there is a beacon, one of a national grid lit up on occasions of celebration and there are panoramic views over the Blackmore Vale from the beacon's location. The woods within Blandford Forest have been worked by woodland craftsmen for over 1,000 years and are still actively worked today. Further information can be found at Waymark 09.

Wayfinding is very easy and paths are excellent.

Refreshment is available at The Royal Oak in Okeford Fitzpaine (www.theroyaloakokefordfitzpaine.co.uk – ST 806110).
