Parking in the area Parque Cultural, Despoblado Antiquo de Cesna, the old village of Cesna which was abandoned during the 1960s after hydrological and seismic problems, the remains of the properties can still be seen and are now an interesting tourist site. The walk takes you through the old village to a point overlooking the largest lake in Andalucia, Lake Iznajar. Down below on the lakeshore are the remains of an old castillo that guarded the valley for centuries before the lake was created. We will travel down through olive groves to the castillo 256 metres below. After a rest and views of the breathtaking scenery that this area offers, we travel back up on different tracks through a pine forest to where the vehicle is parked.
