This pleasant walk starts from the village of Over Haddon just outside Bakewell and goes across gentle meadowland to the 11th Century Haddon Hall. A visit to the hall is recommended. After a pleasant field and woodland walk, the return is via the scenic lower Lathkill Dale to Over Haddon.

9/10/2024 - Bryony Pearson

This was a lovely walk completed on 9th September 2024. There were plenty of sheep and a few cows en route but they didn't cause any issues for us and our dog. If you have a big dog, unlike us, some of the stiles could be tricky as there are quite a few wall stiles with narrow gaps or steep steps. We had a wonderful display by a Red Kite while we were eating our lunch, just before Haddon Hall, flying over at about 50 feet for a few minutes. The small diversion to the weir was well worth it as it was very pretty. The walk had lovely views and was very peaceful, a lovely day!
