Oxenhope - Worth Valley Railway Station - White Moor - Oxenhope

The walk starts at the Worth Valley Railway Station in the centre of Oxenhope, well worth a visit. Trains run frequently during the summer months. There is then a steady climb out of the village, with stunning views of the surrounding moors. The walk passes the Dog & Gun pub which serves great food and real ale and is very walker-friendly. The walk continues onto the moor, passing Coblins Farm with its vast variety of hens, then passes the Waggon & Horses Pub on the A6033; this pub also serves good food and real ale and again is walker-friendly. The walk continues past Slack Farm before returning to Oxenhope.

Did this walk on Saturday. What a delight it was. There was deep snow on White Moor in places which made it a little tricky but it made for fantastic views down the valley. We were glad of the OS Map as the terrain looked entirely different to these summer views. There is a problem between WM 18 and 19. We couldn't find the stile at all and carrying on down the hill takes you into a bog. There was a broken down wall I and think the stile may have been there. We slipped through that and could see the walled lane in the distance so simply picked it up again. Once again a most enjoyable walk Walking World!

Decent walk with nice views in places. We lost the track between WM11 and 12 but easily worked back up to the road again. Topped off the walk with a brew in the old railway carriages doubling as a buffet in the railway station. Very nice!
