Walk starts just outside the village of Parbold, which offers a number of pubs and eating establishments. First part of walk makes its way from Wayfarer pub via country tracks down towards Leeds - Liverpool Canal. Upon crossing the canal the walk climbs gently to Fairy Glen, which is a wooded area with water cascades and fairies, on quiet days. From the wood the route climbs to Parbold Hill, which offers extensive views over West Lancashire and Merseyside plus a public house and often an ice cream van. The descent from Parbold Hill leads down to the canal, which it follows before branching off back to the starting point.
