*This great walk was originally devised and submitted to Walkingworld by Tom Heydon.*

A circular walk which seems to cover most things: footpaths, by-ways, shops, canals, rivers, railway and eating places – sorry but no big hills. Starting at the Paxcroft Mead District Centre, you will walk alongside the Paxcroft Brook for a short distance before turning north to pass through the northern end of the new 'village', the Devizes Road on the old A361. Turn right and follow the footpath as far as Paxcroft Farm before turning left along a by-way to reach the Kennet and Avon Canal. Follow the towpath through Staverton, then join the footpath alongside the railway into Trowbridge. Walk along the banks of the River Biss, through 'The Shires' shopping centre, across the park and past Tesco, before leaving to turn eastwards along Green Lane and back to Paxcroft Mead District Centre.

A bit too much tarmac and walking next to busy roads for us, but a good walk if there's been a period of rain, as there's no chance of any mud! The busy road walking was made worse, as the path at wp12 is closed, so a detour along a main road parallel to it was needed. The stretch next to The K&A is lovely. Walk details all fine as of 26/10/24.
