Penallt - Penallt Old Church - Troy Farm Wood - Troy Farm - Monmouth
Starting from Penallt, the walk passes through woodland to reach the Old Church, well worth a visit for the interesting interior as well as the views from the grounds. After starting to lose height the views are spectacular, across to the Black Mountains and beyond, as well as over Monmouth with its spires and schools and its river crossings. Note the old stone viaduct, left over from the days of steam trains and an old iron bridge from the same era.
