Not sure on which sections of the walk you encountered nettle issues. Unfortunately they tend to be a 'feature' of off road walks. Regarding navigation issues, as well as providing accurate map of route, essential waypoints, waypoint images and corresponding narratives there is also a GPX version of walk on the site. This GPX version can be downloaded into 'Walking World' App, or similar, and will clearly show your current location relative to the route you are aiming to follow. Very useful to help resolve tricky navigation issues.

Found it difficult to follow compass points even with a compass. The paths were completely overgrown which gave us difficulty in finding the right path. My advice is do the walk early April, or in Autumn when all vegetation has died off. Lots of nettles.
