This is not a difficult walk and is as flat as any walk can be in Wales! The route is near the railway for part of the time, with the opportunity to see and photograph the steam train. There are good views for most of the time.

After climbing up from the farm at the start of Stage 7 and passing through the gate before the right turn, disregard all instructions referring to 'walking through woods or trees'. There are neither for the remainder of the walk; they have all been felled. You are walking through tree stumps and low brushwood.

At the end of Stage 4 the way to the gate/stile is blocked by a large fallen tree. Go up the bank to the right of the tree but do not waste time returning to the path. Continue until your way is blocked by a fence, then turn right. You are now following the route as described for stage 5.

8/1/2004 - John Routley

Walked July 04. First part very rough and overgrown with bracken walking very difficult. Could not find ladder gates at points 4 and 5. Had to turn back
