From Perranporth the walk follows the route of the old railway until we climb up to reach Trevellas. A pleasant ramble along country lanes soon brings us to the edge of Perranporth airfield, busy during the Second World War and still in use today for private aircraft. Skirting the airfield we are soon on a particularly spectacular stretch of the coastal path which soon brings us to Cligga Head and the site of the Nobel Explosives Factory. From here we continue the straightforward pathway to Droskyn Head passing through a once very important tin and copper mining area. Reaching the wonderfully located Youth Hostel, we have only to follow the road down into Perranporth once more.
