This hike begins at a large lay-by on the A394 Helston to Penzance road but could be started from Perranuthnoe, where pay-and-display parking is available, saving about 2km in distance. From the lay-by we enjoy amazing panoramas as we pass old mine shafts and reach charming Perranuthnoe. From here we have a delightful coastal path stretch of about 2.5km with plenty of interest along the way. There is a bit of a climb at Cudden Point but nothing significant. By contrast our return leg is an easy ramble across open country, again enjoying wonderful views at every stage. All too soon we are back in Perranuthnoe for a well-earned break at one of its two cafes and pub.
