Many people walk from Polperro along the coast path for a short distance before returning, but this little-known circular walk - after an initial section along country roads - takes you along bridleways and footpaths through the fertile Cornish countryside to join the coast path at East Coombe, where you may wish a rest on a bench overlooking the sea before tacking the tough coastal section. Here, we follow the path around the coast with its breathtaking views back to Polperro.

This walk is not for the faint-hearted, with an excess of 600 steps along its route. The coast path section is not much more than 3km, but seems twice that and takes about two hours! It is well worth the effort however, for the variety of wildlife (if you are lucky you may see a deer) and scenic views.

Walked this route on 4/8/24. The grass track at waypoint 3 is now overgrown with nettles and brambles. Take a big stick.

I have to be honest, the road section at the start followed by a track through the overgrown path then across fields that take you from high up to low down to find the stile and then you realise you have just descended all the way only to have to ascend again is a nightmare. This part of the coast path is ok but dangerous in places and whilst the walk was good I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with kids. There wasn't much to see along the path but Polperro is lovely and it's worth taking time to explore the town. Parking was £5.50 for 6 hours or £4 for three. This walk took over three hours with stops.
