This walk visits Porthgain and Abereiddi. Both villages are relics of an intense quarrying industry and at Porthgain lie the ruins of an old machinery shed and the buildings used in the old brickmaking industry. The slate quarry at Abereiddi played a big part in Porthgain's prosperity. There are leaflets about local history available at the cafe at Porthgain.
